L&rsquo;exposition Hans Hartung: la fabrique du geste porte un nouveau regard sur l\u2019ensemble de l\u2019oeuvre de cet artiste majeur du XXe si\u00e8cle et sur son r\u00f4le essentiel dans l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art. Hans Hartung fut un pr\u00e9curseur de l\u2019une des inventions artistiques les plus marquantes de son temps : l\u2019abstraction.<\/p><p>Acteur d\u2019un si\u00e8cle de peinture, qu\u2019il traverse avec une soif de libert\u00e9 \u00e0 la mesure des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes qui viennent l\u2019entraver jamais, il ne cessera de peindre. Ainsi sont art perdurera malgr\u00e9 la mont\u00e9e du fascisme dans son pays d\u2019origine l&rsquo;Allemagne et la pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 de l\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre en France et ses cons\u00e9quences physiques et morales.\u00a0<\/p><p>Le parcours de la r\u00e9trospective comprend une s\u00e9lection resserr\u00e9e d\u2019environ trois cent oeuvres. Celles-ci proviennent de collections publiques et particuli\u00e8res fran\u00e7aises et internationales et pour une grande part de la <strong>Fondation Hartung-Bergman<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p><p>Aujourd\u2019hui, c\u2019est une d\u00e9ferlante : le march\u00e9 de l\u2019art et les historiens des mus\u00e9es s\u2019int\u00e9ressent \u00e0 nouveau Il est l\u2019un des plus grands artistes du XXe si\u00e8cle. Pourtant il est encore m\u00e9connu du grand public. Incarnant une modernit\u00e9 sans compromis, l\u2019artiste est aussi le pr\u00e9curseur du courant abstractionniste.<\/p><h2>Une r\u00e9trospective importante<\/h2><h3>Un peintre de l&rsquo;abstraction<\/h3><p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Hans Hartung est n\u00e9 le 21 septembre 1904 \u00e0 Leipzig, en Allemagne. Tr\u00e8s jeune, il cultive des int\u00e9r\u00eats pour la philosophie, l&rsquo;astronomie, la musique et la religion \u00e0 un jeune \u00e2ge avant de se tourner vers la peinture. Il trouve son inspiration au d\u00e9but de sa carri\u00e8re dans les \u0153uvres de Rembrandt van Rijn et Francisco de Goya. \u00c0 seulement 17 ans, Hartung commence \u00e0 exp\u00e9rimenter l&rsquo;abstraction. Il synth\u00e9tise les techniques graphiques de ses mod\u00e8les artistiques tout en \u00e9liminant compl\u00e8tement les \u00e9l\u00e9ments figuratifs.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">L\u2019exposition porte un nouveau regard sur l\u2019ensemble de l\u2019\u0153uvre de cet artiste majeur du XXe si\u00e8cle et sur son r\u00f4le essentiel dans l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art. Hans Hartung fut un pr\u00e9curseur de l\u2019une des inventions artistiques les plus marquantes de son temps : <b>l\u2019abstraction.<\/b><\/p><h3>La lib\u00e9ration du geste<\/h3><p>Hans Hartung\u00a0\u00e9labore une peinture gestuelle, lyrique et \u00e9motionnelle.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-49ab266 elementor-blockquote--skin-quotation elementor-blockquote--button-color-official elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"49ab266\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\tSi les aquarelles avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 connues en 1922, elles seraient rest\u00e9es incomprises tant elles \u00e9taient en avance sur son temps \t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d3fe97e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d3fe97e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">\u00e9crit l\u2019historien de l\u2019art allemand Will Grohmann au sujet des peintures <i>Jaune, Rouge et Bleu<\/i> de Hartung. <i>Jaune, Rouge et Bleu<\/i> correspond \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie d\u2019une soixantaine d\u2019aquarelles r\u00e9alis\u00e9es en 1922. Cette expression artistique spontan\u00e9e rev\u00eat la forme d\u2019une explosion de t\u00e2ches libres, color\u00e9es et solaires qui se confondent et se diluent.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Ce passionn\u00e9 de math\u00e9matiques \u00e9labore cependant des \u0153uvres <b>de mani\u00e8re rationnelle<\/b>. Des ann\u00e9es 30 \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 50, il r\u00e9alise d&rsquo;abord des \u0153uvres de petit format, ex\u00e9cut\u00e9es spontan\u00e9ment sur papier.\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Par la suite, il cr\u00e9e le tableau en posant une grille et en agrandissant le papier de petit format sur une toile, en se r\u00e9f\u00e9rant point par point. Les ann\u00e9es 60 marquent \u00e9galement un tournant. Hartung arr\u00eate de travailler en reproduisant des petits formats, mais entre dans une recherche patiente <b>d&rsquo;innovation technologique<\/b>.<\/p><h2 style=\"font-weight: 300;\"><strong>Un peintre traversant l&rsquo;histoire<\/strong><\/h2><h3>Un voyage dans l&rsquo;histoire<\/h3><p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Hartung est confront\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 de l\u2019histoire de son temps. Contraint d\u2019interrompre sa carri\u00e8re pendant la seconde guerre mondiale, son engagement dans la L\u00e9gion Etrang\u00e8re aupr\u00e8s de la France contre l\u2019Allemagne lui laissera des s\u00e9quelles physiques importantes\u00a0: il perd une jambe \u00e0 la bataille de Belfort en 1944.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Sa conduite au combat lui vaudra la m\u00e9daille militaire. Sa blessure aura en outre un impact d\u00e9terminant sur la suite de son \u0153uvre. Hartung a d\u00fb penser son m\u00e9tier, le penser vraiment, r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 ses outils et les r\u00e9inventer en permanence pour conduire une \u0153uvre sans cesse changeante. Son handicap en a fait un artiste plus r\u00e9fl\u00e9chi que les autres. \t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c9d6c64 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c9d6c64\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3 style=\"font-weight: 300;\"><strong>Une fin de vie prolifique<\/strong><\/h3><p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Paradoxalement, c\u2019est \u00e0 la fin de sa vie, alors qu\u2019il \u00e9prouve les plus grandes difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 se d\u00e9placer, qu\u2019Hartung lib\u00e8re compl\u00e8tement son expression picturale. Il peint alors des formats gigantesques, frappants ses \u0153uvres \u00e0 coups de balais de gen\u00eats ou en les pulv\u00e9risant au moyen d\u2019une tyrolienne.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Dans les derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es de sa vie, Hartung peint presque un tableau par jour.
