The main goal of the galerie DIL is to pay tribute to two of the most famous expressionist French painters of the post-war period: Bernard Buffet and Fernand Léger.

Bernard Buffet

The galerie DIL owns a few Bernard Buffet's artworks.
This French figuratif painter from the post-war period drew a lot of attentions with a rich art often focusing on unique and precise themes such as the clown, paris on the german's takeover or still life painting.
His fame spread across the french territory, with a notable success in Japan for instance.

Fernand Léger

Fernand Léger, a french painter born and raised in Normandy, was one of the first to expose some cubist artwork. 
His art was greatly influenced by Cézanne work as well as the cubism of Picasso and Braque. A new kind of cubism finally emerge from this influence : the tubism.

Bernard Lorjou

The galerie DIL owns a few Bernard Lorjou's artworks.
This french painter from the XXth century is known as one of the creator of the movement « L’Homme témoin de son temps ».
His figuratif art, was sometimes labeled as "late expressionism".
All through his career, he showed his art in the Salon d'automne as well as in the Salon des peintres témoins de leur temps.

The director of the gallery

Marc Boumendil, member of the Syndicat National des Antiquaires et Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, passionate about art and great collector, sets up his gallery at 86 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, just opposite the Elysée Palace, in the heart of the new Parisian district dedicated to art. The Dil gallery, offers paintings and drawings by recognized artists of the 20th century such as Chagall, Lorjou, Vasarely, Mathieu. It consists in a constant tribute to Bernard Buffet, one of the most famous figuratif french painter from the second half of the 20th century, and to Fernand Léger, one of the main creator of modernism.

With this gallery, I want to share with others my admiration for Bernard Buffet and my great respect for Maurice Garnier. Thank you to both of them for the part of dream that they allowed us to have and friendship to those who will want to make me the pleasure to share in this world a little too cloudy this moment of emotion.
